THE INSPIRATION

This piece was made under a small time frame with me sitted in the middle given directions on movements. This piece resonated with me so I decided to draw inspiration from the 2d lines to create a 3d visual.

I liked the curvature and points and decided to mimic this in the piece. The shape also became practical for holding the piece and shaking the piece to produce sound. Inside the maraca, I used dried clay beads so that when shaken the sound is high pitched and can be loud or soft depending on how fast it is shaken.
